Nightmare

I love having nightmares
Absolute dread
Feeling a primal internalized fear
The novelty of the emotion
How unjaded I am to it
So unfamiliar

To gaze into the eyes of the beast
That has come for its property
Its true name unfathomable to mortal minds
A transcendent transdimensional being
Emanating scorn and red
The air pulsing from its hunched form
Bursts of static trickling from its hide

Escape impossible
Bargaining impossible
To attempt either would only raise the ire of this entity
All's lost, especially hope
I await judgement
Then am burned into suffering

And I awake panting
Trying to remember his name
